Driving Directions
Hwy 401 to Cobourg. Exit County Road 45 North (one hour east of Toronto)
North on County Road 45 for 25 minutes to Hastings. We are at the bridge on the Trent.
Or take Highway #7 for 20 minutes east of Peterborough and then go 10 minutes south on County Road 45 to the bridge in Hastings.
Marine Services Description:
Hastings on the Trent is the gateway to Rice Lake, the second largest lake on the Trent system. Since 1615, when Samuel Champlain is said to have navigated this historical site, to 1820 when the town was named Crook's Rapids, and onward to today, people discover abundant wildlife along our 1500' greenbelt marina and picnic area. Watch for Great Blue Herons, muskrats and beaver as you swim at our public beach. Relax on our seventy-foot waterfront deck and stroll along the waterfront promenade; a great place to dock large yachts and give the feet something to do. From here, you are steps to the first dam ever built on the Trent in 1844. Marvel at the highest velocity of water shooting through the dam chutes as fishers compete for trophy fish from the bridge. After this kick up your feet and have some lunch fare while patio dining at the water's edge or sample gourmet coffee at the new chic lock-side cafe.
If you are in need of more to do there is five-pin bowling, bed & breakfasts, century homes to enjoy, pontoon boat and jet-ski rentals, or just stock up on supplies at the LCBO and grocers' and catch up on your banking. Chat with our veterans at the Legion or relax while visiting our churches. With over sixty kilometres of lock-free open water, Hastings is a great choice to stay overnight or dock your vessel for the season!
At the end of it all, watch spectacular sunsets from the deck of your yacht as you prepare for yet another day at Hastings, the Hub of the Trent.
